Description

A creamy, savory dip made with caramelized onions, perfect for serving with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium yellow onions (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • ¼ cup avocado oil-based mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped chives (plus more to garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan over medium heat, add the 2 tablespoons avocado oil and then the 3 medium yellow onions (diced). Cook and stir every 2-3 minutes until the onions are soft and caramelized to a golden brown color. This will take about 30-35 minutes.
  2. Before the onions are fully caramelized, add the 3 garlic cloves (minced) and cook for a few minutes.
  3. Place the caramelized onion into a mixing bowl and place it in the fridge until it reaches room temperature.
  4. Next, add in the 1 cup Greek Yogurt, 1 cup light sour cream, ¼ cup avocado oil-based mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons fresh chopped chives, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and Salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.
  5. Garnish with more chopped chives or chopped parsley and serve with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.

Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper according to your taste.
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
