- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Melt the unsalted butter in an oven-safe baking dish while the oven preheats.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well mixed.
- Stir in the milk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Remove the melted butter from the oven and pour the batter over it without stirring.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Notes
- For a sweeter cornbread, add more sugar.
- This recipe can be made using a cast-iron skillet for a crispy crust.
