Description

Delicious roasted sweet potatoes seasoned with a blend of sweet and savory spices.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. A large unlined black sheet pan works best for this recipe.
  2. Wash, peel (if desired), and cut sweet potatoes into ¾-inch cubes.
  3. Toss sweet potatoes with oil and salt directly on the sheet pan.
  4. Evenly drizzle the maple syrup over the potatoes and sprinkle with cinnamon. Toss well.
  5. Evenly sprinkle all seasonings over the potatoes and toss well.
  6. Spread evenly in a single layer (use two pans if necessary).
  7. Bake for 10 minutes, toss carefully, then continue baking for around 10-15 minutes until golden brown and tender. Increase heat to 425°F for last 5 minutes if desiring a deeper roast.
